Great Pastors are Flexible

As you strive to be the best leader that you can be, flexibility is a trait that will prove to be extremely beneficial. There will be times in your ministry in which you will have a developed plan of execution, but somewhere along the line, the need for change occurs. In situations like these, it is imperative that you are able to remain flexible so that you can take action. If you want to be a great leader, you must show flexibility.

There will be seasons in your ministry where it will seem like a lot is being thrown at you. Maybe you are in a situation where a down-season has caused your church to drop in attendance. Perhaps you are short on staff, but short on budget at the same time. In difficult times like these, it is apparent that a systematic change in execution must occur. Flexible leaders understand that change is necessary to compensate for certain scenarios.

As you seek to find new opportunities and techniques to create an atmosphere that is conducive to the success of your mission, flexibility is key. Flexible leaders comprehend the fact that plans may need to change in order to take advantage of great opportunities. Perhaps you have been in a situation in your life in which a great opportunity was presented to you, but it meant changing the way you go about your daily life. In order to experience that great, possibly life changing opportunity, you had to be flexible.
