If you have been a on this earth for any length of time, you know that conflict is everywhere. When you turn on the TV, conflict fills the media, as well as sitcoms and other programs. Conflict is the fuel for many social media interactions. Conflict even arises during mundane tasks like grocery shopping when someone hops in front of you in the checkout line! The reality is, conflict has, in many ways, plagued society. Conflict can also be of monumental detriment to the mission of the church if it is not handled properly. In this series, we discuss the ins and outs of dealing with conflict as a pastor.

Before learning how to lead in conflict resolution, it is important to understand exactly how conflict typically works. Conflict is full of defining, identifiable, characteristics. It can also take on many forms and appearances. In this series, one of our goals is to equip you with the knowledge necessary to identify potential conflict before it happens and as it is happening.

Once you feel confident in your ability to determine where conflict could arise, as well as identifying it when it happens, the next step is to prepare for it. You may be able to see conflict coming from a mile away, but what should you do next? The way you prepare for conflict is both systematic and spiritual. It involves the condition of your heart, as well as methodical approaches. What are these approaches and how should your heart posture look?

Finally, after you are comfortable with the ins and outs of conflict, it is time to learn how to respond to it. Conflict resolution can be difficult, but we are here to help.
