Giving is a fundamental cornerstone of the church. As Christians, we are all called to be generous people toward everyone. 1 John 3:17 says, “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” Although we are called to be generous people, there is a growing trend that does not value generosity within the church. Throughout this series, we affirm the role that generosity plays. This begs the question: what can church leaders do to place value on generosity in the church? We want to teach you the ins and outs of increasing giving in church.
Giving within the church goes beyond principle. It even goes beyond raising money for the functionality of the church itself. When the church gives, it represents the faith that is placed in the power and provision of God. Ultimately, this is why generosity has to be valued within the church. God cannot trust us with the task of ministering to people if we do not trust him financially. This principle of generosity extends beyond the congregation and on to the leadership of the church as well.
Since generosity is a culture that must be created within the church, how can you do this as a leader? What does it look like to lead by example in generosity within the church? When it comes to increasing giving in church, what are some practical tips that you can use? The answers to these questions and more are found within this series.
