Your church board serves a very important role within your church. The board is not a group of members who are hungry for power and influence within the church. The board is a group that is ready to serve in order to create an amazing church environment. This is everything! Although this aspect of church ministry seems self-explanatory and relatively routine, there are many specifics that go into leading the church board. In this video, we discuss the importance of understanding church board basics. This will ensure that you can lay the foundation for a helpful church board.

The first step in laying this foundation is to define the roles of your board members, staff members, and lead pastor. Defining the roles of each of these key players is vital to the success of your board. Think about your favorite sports team. Would a quarter-back understand who to throw the ball to? The answer to all of these questions is no. This is why we want to help you establish roles within your church for better organization and effectiveness.

After you understand what the roles of each of these key players in the church are, you must know how to carry out those roles. In addition to this, knowing how to lead in a way that allows for others to carry out their roles is imperative. Much like a football coach, it is your job to rally your team for the ultimate win: reaching people for Christ.
